How to Accurately Measure Your Head Circumference
Getting the correct head measurement is essential for a comfortable, secure wig fit. At Bimz Hair, we want your wig to feel like it was made just for you. Here’s how to get it right.

Step-by-Step Measuring Guide
Position the tape correctly
Wrap the measuring tape around your head at the points where the wig’s edge will sit — usually from your hairline at the forehead, around just above your ears, and down to the nape of your neck.
Account for your hair volume
If your natural hair adds bulk (e.g. thick, braided, or curly hair), you may want to add up to 1 inch (about 2.5 cm) to your measurement. Don’t overdo it; too much slack can make the wig loose.
Include baby hairs or desired hairline coverage
If you want your wig to cover baby hairs or sit slightly in front of your natural hairline, extend the tape just a bit beyond your hairline to capture that.
Record the measurement
Write down the measurement in inches or centimeters. It’s better to round down a bit than up — we can always adjust the cap tighter, but loosening is tougher once it’s fitted.
- Measure more than once to double-check accuracy.
- Use a mirror or get help — it’s easy to misread angles.
- Don’t pull the tape too tight — keep it snug but comfortable.
- Keep your hair in the style you’ll wear under the wig (braids, curls, etc.) when measuring.
